TREASURY DEPARTMENT
WASHINGTON

August 13, 1955

Dear Mr* Eccles:
For the purpose of giving effect to the attached
request of the President, will you be good enough to ask your
representative for the State of Pennsylvania to meet Mr.
Peter Grimm in Philadelphia, Pa,, at 10:30 o'clock Monday
morning, August 19th. The meeting will be in Row 310, P. 0.
Building, 9th and Chestnut Streets,
The purpose of the conference will be to give
each of the several directors of Federal activities touching
housing, mortgages, construction and modernization the opportunity to acquaint the others with his work in the hope that
they may develop a plan of cooperation within their existing
respective powers and authority.
It will be helpful if your representative will
have in readiness for the meeting a written memorandum briefly
summarizing:
(a) His objectives as applied to local Pennsylvania
conditions,
(b) His progress thus far in accomplishing those
objectives,
(c) Suggestions as to how other local Federal agencies may be helpful in furthering his work.
Your cooperation in making this conference successful will be deeply appreciated.
Sincerely yours,
(sgd,) H, Morgenthau, Jr,
Marriner S. Eccles, Esq.,
