Eccles Vice Chairman Board of Governors Federal Reserve System Washington, D. C. Dear Marriner: I can no longer resist the impulse to congratulate you on the strong stand you personally have taken in recent weeks with reference to the conflict of opinion between the Board and the Treasury as to interest rates and support of Government bonds. I admire you tremendously for your consistency and boldness and integrity of thought* I wish to God the country had more like you. Not being given to gratuitous compliments, I hope you realize this comes from the heart. Have recently seen Pack Dreibelbis personally and on business. He is going great guns which I am sure pleases you as much as it pleases me. I observe you will be here making a speech March 2. the city, I will be there. Best wishes, as always.
