Honorable Fred L. Crawford,
U. S. House of Representatives,
Washington 25, D. C.
Dear Fred:
I have been going to write you for days telling you I have read your remarks in the Congressional
Records in reply to Mr, Patman. I want you to know how
much I appreciate your defense of the Federal Reserve
System, I have always felt you were a very good personal
friend of mine as well as of the Federal Reserve* I
sincerely hope that my conduct in public office will continue to merit your support.
In case you might not already have seen it I
am enclosing some material which may be of assistance to
you in your battles with Mr. Patiaan. The Congressional
Record covering the session of the Senate on February 22d
which you might not have read, contains a most illuminating and complete statement made by Senator Paul Douglas
on the question of credit and monetary controls. I recommend it highly for your reading if you have not already
seen it.
With kindest personal regards,
Sincerely yours,

M. S. Eccles.
