Mr. M. C. Eccles

Washington, D. C.
Dear Mr. Eccles;
As you probably know, .Senator Graham is in the
hospital recovering from an attack of pneumonia. While
his physician says he is making steady progress, i t w i l l
be several days before he is able to return to the o f f i c e .
He regrets that he is not in a position to write
to you in person aM express his deep appreciation to you
for your communication. He was eager to write you promptly,
himself, but since his illness prevents this, he has asked
me to t e l l you how much i t has meant to him to have your
personal thoughts and to receive your generous sentiments
at this time.
There has been some delay in answering your
letter since i t has just been forwarded here from Chapel
Hill.
Dr. Graham had planned to return there sooner,
and write to you himself.

He sends his best wishes and warm regards.
Sincerely am gratefully
