JOHN A. REED FIRST NATIONAL BANK BLDO. KEMMERER WYOMING February 26, 1935 Honorable M, S. Eccles, fo Federal Reserve Board, Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. Eccles: I appreciate receiving your letter of the 21st and assure you it is a pleasure for me to be able to contact Senator ^arey in your behalf. If there is anything further in this connection that you feel I can do for you, I will be only too glad to give it my attention. I was only in Washington for one day on my return from New York. I should have enjjoyed a short visit with you, but upon calling your office found that you were very busy and as I have had seme experience in public life, I know something of what you are up against so thought it best not to insist further upon seeing you. I had nothing in particular to talk about but I did want to advise you of some rather influential contacts I had in New York that were inclined to be luke-warm over your appointenent and I am convinced that after I was through talking with them, that they had an entirely different understanding of you. We will perhaps have an opportunity for a personal contact the next time I am east or at such a time as you are west during the forthcoming summer. With kind personal regards, I am Sincerely,
