Mr. Marriner S. Eccles, Chairman
Board of Governors of the
federal Reserve System
Washington, D. C.

Dear Mr. Eccles:
On June 20, Mr. Chester Morrill
forwarded to members of the Atlanta Federal
Reserve Bank copy of a letter of June 14,
addressed to Senator Wagner from Mr. Jesse H. Jones,
also, copy of your letter of the 19th to
Senator Wagner, commenting on Mr. Jones' letter
and pointing out the several misstatements made
by Mr. Jones.
I have read all the correspondence
with considerable interest, and we wish to commend
you on your courage in pointing out the errors
in Mr. Jones' letter and in giving the facts to
the Chairman-of the Banking and Currency Committee.
While these letters indicated a
rather wide difference in statements of two very
prominent gentlemen, I wish to say that I am
accepting that of the Chairman of the 3oard of
Governors as correct.
With best wishes,
Yours very truly,

JFP:ah
