Dear Mr. Eccles:
There will be a meeting of the Board of Economic Stabilization
on Thursday, September 20, 19U5* at 11:00 a.m. to discuss:
(1) Wage and price stabilization under Titles III and IV
of Executive Order 9599.
(2) The administration by the Office of Economic Stabilization of the following proviso in Title IV of
Executive Order 9599s
"Where the National War Labor Board or other
designated agency, or the Price Administrator,
shall have reason to believe that a proposed
wage or salary increase will require a change in
the price ceiling of the commodity or service
involved, such proposed increase, if approved by
the National War Labor Board or such other designated agency under the authority of this section
shall become effective only if also approved by
the Director of Economic Stabilization."
The subjects under discussion are important and I hope that
every member of the Board will be able to attend*
