WAKE ROBIN H O L L A N D , M IC H IG A N June 21 ’39 Dear Mr. Eccles: Your address to the alumni of the Harvard Bus iness school, June 16, as reported in the newspapers, gave me a great lift -— among other reasons Decause of your inclusion of the self-liquidating possibilities of an adequate puolic health program. Do you by any chance have a copy of your address, and if so, could you rush me one Dy airmail, to arrive here by Saturday if possible, before I leave for Philadelphia and New York? Two things have happened since the evening, last November, when you listened to a sketch of a health program, self liquidating and based purely on economic common sense. Ones eff orts, through Hopkins, to interest the Administration, have fail ed completely. Two: the conservative Curtis Publishing Company has taken fire at the idea, and is getting ready to put it before business, financial, industrial, labor, farm, educational and other leaders of the country in a large way. With a view to asking such a group to demand of the G o v e r n m e n t ---on a non political basis -— that an economic health program be instituted Cologne Please give my best to the Bishops of c erlin and when you see them. Sincerely,
