I was very much pleased to
read in the Tribune concerning your letter to
Senator Byrd of Virginia* I am glad somebody
is taking this apple picker to task* The Senate
as well as the House seems to be just filled
with men who have only the most superficial
ideas of economics and who have not even the
charm and the background of the English
I enclose a little clipping
by Joseph Newton Ford on Tories which may interest you.
I follow from afar, through
press dispatches from time to time, your very
interesting career* I dropped in to see you
once or twice while in Washington, but you were
not available* Keep up the good work*
I hope that the next year .will
be very enjoyable for you and Mrs. Eccles.
