THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON December 2, 1946 My dear Mr« Eccles: The President, on Friday November fifteenth at a Cabinet meeting, requested the members of the Cabinet to prepare material concerning subjects within their cognizance which they believed should be considered in the preparation of the Presidents "State of the Union" message to be delivered to the Congress in January* The President now requests that similar material be prepared by the Federal Reserve System and that it be sent to the White House by December tenth in a form suitable for inclusion in the draft of the message which is now being prepared• Very truly jrours, CLARK M.
