Mr* Mariner S* Eccles,
Chairman, Board of Governors,
Federal Reserve Bank,
Washington, D«C*
Dear Mr* Eccles:
I heard your radio talk last evening,
January 23rd, and this is written to request AJS2iBL>2£K,
your^Jba-lk if any arrangements have been made to^si^pT^^
Cfopies to those interested*
Please permit a comment* I believe
I am one of thousands- honestly trying to form correct
judgments on important public questions* One difficulty
is the almost universal practice by defenders of the
Administration^ policy, to make their talks largely a
matter of "smear11 and indulgence in disgusting personalities* As a humble citizen permit me to express my
appreciation of the fact that you refrained entirely
from such practices, and appeared to present your side
of the question with an attitude of friendliness and
respect for your present chief opponent in the debate,
Senator Byrd«

Thank you*
Very sincerely yourst
