Juno 9, lSk5 Dear Claude: It was particularly gratifying to me to have an opportunity to talk with you last Tuesday, and I appreciate your taldng the time to come down for luncheon here* I hope you will have an opportunity to do so often, I wish there were more members of the Congress who took an interest, as you do, in these monetary and fiscal matters which, though complicated and difficult to dramatise, are nevertheless of crucial importance in a capitalistic democracy. X am very glad that you wish to turn your attention, busy though you are with so many other matters, to some oftiieseunderlying economic problems* Thank you for sending me the copy of your inspiring address at the memorial exercises for President Boosevelt before the joint session of the Florida Legislature* It was interesting to read that significant exchange of letters which you had with him a few days before his death. I had seen some reference to them in the press, but had not seen the full text before. With best regards, Sincerely yours, The Honorable Claude Pepper, United States Senate, Washington 25, D.
