your visit in Boston. I enjoyed the opportunity of
talking with you and I was extremely interested in
your views on the economic and social problems of the

I very much appreciate the courtesy of your
note of November 27th. I was glad to have the privilege
of talking wit<h you during my visit in Boston, and am
looking forward to the opportunity of seeing you when
you come to Washington after the first of the year and
of discussing with you the various social and economic
problems in which I know you are deeply interested and
to which you bring a broad viewpoint that I consider of
the highest importance, particularly in these times.
It i£r very reassuring that you are to be a
member of the Senate, where I know that your knowledge
of and interest in banking and economic problems will be
of the greatest value.
