Mr. Althaus of the National- Credit Bureau called
to get an appointment with you — he left this
message:
The members of the Bureau are meeting for
their annual sessions in Washington this
year for the first time in 5 years. There
will be around 300 to 400 members here from
the states from Maine to Virginia.
They want very much to have you give the
opening session address on Monday, February
13th, at the Statler, 10:00 or 10: 30 in
the morning. Any subject you choose —
Regulation W, any warning you think they
should have about present problems, or what
ever you wish.

Washington, D. C.
Dear Sir;
It is indeed a pleasure to know that you will address the credit
conference at the Statler Hotel on Monday morning, February 13
at approximately 10:1? A.M.
Your wishes concerning the confidential nature of your talk and
that no reporters shall publicize your address will be respected.
Mr. Lindley S. Crowder, Treasurer, Manager of National Retail
Credit Association of St. Louis, will be most pleased to intro
duce you. Mr. Samuel E. Collegeman, Credit Manager of S. Kann
Sons Company, is President of the Twelfth District and one of
the three of us is certain to see you upon your arrival. The
printed program has not as yet been delivered, but one will be
sent you as soon as they are available.
These past years retailers have had so much to do with the Federal
Reserve System, Regulation W and all its ramifications and it is
just wonderful that you will give us your time and interest.
Your willingness to meet with us is most sincerely appreciated.

P.S. We would like to suggest a thirty minute address, after
which it would be nice to have a ten minute discussion period
