Mr. Marriner S. Eccles, Chairman,
Board of Governors,
Federal Reserve System,
Constitution Ave. and 21st St., NW,
Washington, D. C.
Dear Sir:
May we trouble you to let us have in
advance, for release of course after delivery,
either a copy or an abstract of the remarks you
purpose to make at the 54th annual banquet of the
New York Credit M e n ’s Association at the Hotel Astor
on February 17th.
While the writer will attend the dinner,
an early deadline makes it necessary to have some
material in advance if an account of the proceedings
is to be published on the following morning.
Any material you may be able to send us
in advance will be greatly appreciated.
Very trul

Mr. S. S. May, ^ity Editor,
Daily News Record,
7 East 12th Street,
New York 3, New York.
Dear Mr. May:
I just received your letter of February 10, re
questing a copy or an abstract of the address which I
expect to deliver before the New York Credit Men's Asso
ciation on February 17.
I do not expect to have any time or opportunity
to prepare a statement or an abstract of a statement. It
was distinctly understood when X agreed to make the address
that it would be an extemporaneous one and strictly off the
record. Therefore, I am sorry that I will be unable to
comply with your request. I do, however, appreciate your
interest.
Sincerely yours,

M. S. Eccles.
