LITTLE’ S POINT
SWAMPSCOTT, MASS.
JOHN

H. FAHEY

July 11, 194-9

Honorable Marriner S. Eccles
Member of the Federal Reserve Board
Washington, D. C.
Dear Marriner:
The New York Times of June 29 had a brief A.P.
story referring to a talk you made at a luncheon meeting
of the American Veterans Committee concerning further
price adjustments. I would be very much interested to
read your talk* If you have a spare copy, will you send
me one.
There was another story in the papers just a few
days ago about another statement you gave out relative
to Federal Reserve policy. If you have a copy of that,
will you send it along?
As you know, I have, for so many years, been deeply
interested in your out-spoken, courageous statements and
would like to keep up to date on anything you say,
under present extraordinary conditions.
I hoped to be back in Washington long before this
and to have a chance to get hold of you, tut I have not
been able to make it. Is there any possibility that you
will be up New England way before the end of the summer?
Could we induce you to come, if only over a weekend or
something like that. I certainly miss the all too
infrequent opportunities we used to have for talking
things over.
With all good wishes and ever increasing admiration
for the splendid public service you have been rendering
so long. Mrs. Fahey and the girls, who happen to be here
just now, join me in best wishes to you and yours.
Sincerely,

John H. Fahey
