Mr. Marriner S. Eccles, Chairman
Board of Governors
Federal Reserve System
Washington, D. C.
Dear Chairman Eccles:
Answering your letter of January 17th, the
writer is pleased to advise you that with the approval of
Governor Frank G. Fitzgerald we have just secured the
C9nsent of Mr. Alvan Macauley, Jr., State Banking Com
missioner, to serve as Presiding Officer on the occasion
of the luncheon to be arranged in your honor under the
auspices of The Economic Club of Detroit Monday noon,
February 20th, in the Grand BallRoom of the Book-Cadillac
Hotel.
It is our understanding that your subject will
be,
«WHAT SHOULD BE THE GOVERNMENT'S OBJECTIVES
IN FISCAL AND MONETARY POLICIES?"
You may be assured that we shall have a very re
presentative group of Detroiters representing our financial
and industrial interests at the Speaker's Table and at the
reception preceding the luncheon.
Please feel free to make any further suggestions
which in your judgment will contribute to the success of
this meeting.
/^Teiy^gratefully yours,

Allen B. Crow,
President
