Eccles Board of Governors Federal Reserve System Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. Eccles: I had the privilege of sitting at the Speaker* s table at the Executives1 Club luncheon in Chicago when you spoke before them on March 2nd. I did not, however, have the pleasure of telling you afterwards how much I enjoyed the speech which you gave. It certainly was a "corker”. The speech has now been printed by the Executives' Club and I mailed a copy of it to Mr. Frederick H. Prince. He asked me to be sure to write and tell you that he thought it was one of the finest talks he read in a long long time. Very sincerely, JFDml May 9, 1951 Dear Mr. Donovans I want to apologize for being so long in answer ing your letter of March 27, which arrived at my office while I was in the West. I am just now getting caught tip on my correspondence. I am delighted to know that you enjoyed the re marks which I made to The Executives* Club of Chicago at the luncheon on March 2, and that you thought them of sufficient interest to send a printed copy of the address to Mr. Frederick H. Prince. I was flattered by and in terested in his reaction, i.e., that he "thought it was one of the finest talks he had read in a long time". It is always incouraging to me to have business leaders like pjr. Prince and you favorably respond to my efforts. I was glad to have the opportunity to meet with you and other business leaders in Chicago. With kind regards, Sincerely yours, M. S. Eccles. Mr. James F. Donovan, 1305 First National Bank Building, Chicago 3> Illinois. VEsdls
