The Honorable Marriner S. Eccles,
Board of Governors,
Federal Reserve System,
Washington, D. C.
Dear Marriner:
I appreciate very greatly your willingness to talk to the
membership of the Independent Petroleum Association of America at their
dinner meeting on Monday evening, October 3rd.
I understand this will
be an off-the-record discussion of current economic and currency problems.
Since you advise me you are leaving here on the American
Airlines at one o'clock Monday and expect to arrive in Dallas about 5:30,
we will arrange to meet that plane and furnish transportation on into
Fort Worth so that you will not need to arrange here f or transportation
from Dallas to Fort Worth.
We will arrange a room for you at the Texas Hotel at Fort
Worth
While I reeognize this to be an off-the-record meeting,
I am sure experience has made you conscious of the desire of many of
the press to have something they may use. I am wondering if this could
not be arranged by a short press conference following the dinner meeting.
If we can be of any further service to you, we would apĀ
preciate having you call on us.

Very truly yours,

Rusm xB. Brown
