Chairman, Board of Governors

Washington, D. C.
My dear Chairman Eccles:
Attached herewith is a copy of a letter going
forward to a distinguished list of bankers and industrial
leaders of this area who are being invited to meet you at
a brief reception preceding the luncheon as well as being
seated at the Speaker's Table with you next Monday noon
at the Grand Ball Room of the Book-Cadillac.
We are also arranging to have a suite reserved
for you and Mr. Lawrence Clayton at the Book-Cadillac upon
your arrival, the further arrangements of which the writer
understands are being made by Mr. Ralph H. Buss, your Detroit
representative.
It is our understanding that you will bring with
you suitable press releases and the writer is reminding the
editors of the various Detroit papers of your desire that
your remarks at the luncheon shall be considered as "off
the record."
Please feel free to make any other suggestions
which may occur to either you or Mr. Clayton by phoning the
writer here at Fitzroy 5100 at our expense or by return
air mail.
