Hon. Marriner S. leeles,
Chairman of the Board of Governors
Of the Federal Reserve System,
Washington, D.G.
My dear Mr. EcclessOur mutual friend, Mr. Oscar Newton, has sent
me a copy of your address delivered to the bankers of
New England. I have read this address very carefully
and wish to congratulate you on your efforts. I was
particularly delighted with the latter part of your speech
which refers to the record of the bankers, the constitu
tional amendment regarding income tax, and other things.
I am glad that you told the bankers the truth. It will
be better for them and better for us all if they listen to
frank speeches like yours.
I wish you much happiness during the Holiday Season and
with all good wishes and regards,
Very truly yours,

WHKtD.
