Eccles Federal Reserve Board Washington, D.C. Dear Mr. Eccles: We shall always be Indebted to you for the fine talk you gave from our rostrum. We could not let such an occasion pass unmarked, and we have selected from A. Sulka and Co. a set of solid gold cuff links set with a carnelian. These are now in the mail to you. If for any reason they should not be exactly what you would want, they may be exchanged at Sulka's New York store for a more suitable pair. Again our thanks to you for contributing so much to one of the finest meetings the Club has had. Sincerely yours, pmc/dr October 22, 1948. Dear Mr. Corbett: Your letter of October 14 pleased me very much for two reasons. First, it was flattering with reference to the speech I gave before your Club. Second, it advised me that your olub had selected from A. Sulka and Company a set of solid gold cuff links set with camelian. The cuff links arrived by i&ail the SoJBe-fciae I received your letter. They are very attractive and I shall prize having them because of their expression of appreciation. If I was able to contribute something in my talk to your Club it was partly because of your flattering introduction, and the friendly, attentive and receptive response which I received from the audience made up of the members of your Club and the guests. I wish to express my appreciation for your letter, the gift which the Club sent me, and especially for the op portunity of addressing such an influential and intelligent audience. Sincerely yours, M. S. Eccles. Mr. Paul M. ^orbett, President, The Executives1 Club of Chicago, Suite 1949, 111 West Washington Street, Chicago 2, Illinois.
