NATIONAL POWER POLICY COMMITTEE INTERIOR BUILDING WASHINGTON December 20, 1937 Honorable Marriner S. Eccles, Chairman, The Federal Reserve Board, Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. Eccles: I have read with great interest your address before the American Farm Bureau at Chicago on December 14. It is really an excellent presentation and I hope it may serve to correct much of the loose economic talk which we hear about the present re cession. I hope you will continue to plug away at your thesis that successful functioning of private enterprise depends upon a price policy which will encourage a maximum interchange of goods and services. With the season*s best greetings, I am lours sincerely, Benjamin V. Cohen December ¿3, 1937* Mr. Benjamin V. Cohen, National Power Policy Committee, Interior Building, Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. Cohen: This is to thank you for your very kind and thoughtful note of December 20th with reference to my talk before the American Farm Bureau Federa tion at Chicago. Your generous comments are very much appreciated. While this speech fell far short of what 1 hoped it might be both as an analysis and in its discussion of remedial measures, I am natur&lly much gratified to have your favorable opinion of it so far as it went. May I not add to this acknowledgement the Season's Greetings and my earnest good wishes to you for a Merry Christmas and a happy and successful New Year. Sincerely yours, M. S. Iccles, Chairman. ET:b
