Federal Reserve Board
Washington, D. C.
Dear Sir:
Will you kindly send me about fifty copies
of the address you will deliver before the convention
of the American Bankers Association in New Orleans,
Thursday, November 14? I should like to have this
material to supply to members of the press in attendance
at the convention at the time the speech is delivered.
It is not my plan, of course, to make any advance distri
bution of this material.

Mr* Garden Edwards,
American Bankers Association,
22 East 40th Street,
Hew York City*
Dear Garden*
Enclosed are two mimeographed transcripts
of the Chairman1s speech as taken down by your
expert stenographers and as corrected here, for
such permanent record as you may issue*
I wired you last night for copies of three
speeches and took the liberty of suggesting that
you go to the large expense of sending them air»
mail* I neglected to mention that X proposed to
reimburse you or the A»B*A* for this extravagance«
X should have liked to have had more time to
talk with you and hope for a better opportunity
before long, because there are sundry subjects upon
which your advice and counsel would be extremely
valuable to me as they have been in the past*
Faithfully,

Elliott Thurston,
Special Assistant
to the Chairman*
