Dear Marriner:
Practically the first piece of business to
come torayattention upon my return to San Francisco
is our annual meeting of the Directors of the various
offices of this bank which will be held in
San Francisco May 7, 194-8* All the Directors enjoyed
your presence last year exceedingly, and I do hope
that you will be able to come out this year as well.
We are also asking Thomas McCabe and hope both of you
will be able to attend.
While the official meeting is scheduled for
May 7, we will have an informal dinner the night of
May 6 and would especially appreciate your being on
hand that evening.

Upon my return from Los Angeles I am delighted to
find your acceptance of April 16 whereby you advise you will
be able to be here on May 6 and 7. I also wish to have a
little cocktail party for you auout five o'clock on May 7«
Therefore, on receipt of this letter will you kindly wire
me if this latter idea is satisfactory to you. It is
simply a repetition of last year, giving you a chance to
see some of the bankers and your friends here. Incidentally,
is there anyone whom you would particularly like to invite
to the cocktail party?
In the meantime I send my best regards.
