FEDERAL RESERVE BANK O F DALLAS April 1, 1939 Dear Mr. Ecclesi Mr. W. A. Philpott, Jr., Secretary of the Texas Bankers Association, has advised me that you have been in vited to attend the Fifty-Fifth Annual Convention of that Association which -mill be held in Dallas on May 16, 17 and 18, 1939, and to address the meeting on one of those days. We hope you may find it possible to accept the invitation, as it would give you an opportunity to meet a number of the bankers in this district and to visit this bank and possibly one or two of its branches while you are in the State. If you should decide to visit us we will be glad to arrange a special meeting of our Board of Directors •while you are here and to also arrange an automobile trip to our San Antonio or Houston branch, if you wish. Dear Mr. Gilbert: In reply to your letter of April 1, let me say that I have advised Mr. Philpott that if 1 can arrange to do so, I shall attend the convention of the Texas Bankers Association, but- that I can only give him a tentative acceptance at this time and will let him know definitely during the first week in May. In the event that I am able to come to Dallas, I should hope to satisfy a long deferred wish to visit the Reserve Bank and possibly the Houston Branch if that conveniently can be arranged.
