Honorable Lawrence Clayton
Assistant to the Chairman
Board of Governors of the
Federal Reserve System
Washington, D* C*
Dear Mr* Clayton:
Your very kind letter of the 11th reached me
here in Los Angeles*
Press of business prevented my attending the
A* B* A* Convention, as much as 1 should have liked to
do so*
As I am not closely in touch with the BancamericaBlair Corporation, I have taken the liberty of sending your
letter to Mr* John M* Grant, President of Transamerica, who
is also Chairman of the Board of Bancamerica-Blair, and
have requested him to do everything possible to comply
with your desires in respect to your brother*
I am sure that your brother will have no diffi
culty, after Mr* Grant has communicated with Mr* Adams,
President of the Company in New York, in approaching him
and having a good chat with him* I regret that I am not
able personally to do more in this matter, but Mr* Grant,
undoubtedly, will go the limit for you*
You may rest assured that I shall take advantage
of your kind invitation to visit your new quarters when
next in Washington and to have luncheon with you*

Warmest personal regards and best wishes.1
Sincerely yours,

A* P* Giannini
