Executive Vic© President

May 14,

Horn John K. McKee
Board of Governors
Federal Reserve Sjystem
Washington, D« C.
Dear Johns
Roblin Davis has just told me that jjrf paif JfafrpnT of
Baton, Colorado, has been suggested for a Director of th© Denver
Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City*

c

Mr. Eaton is about fori#-~fiv® years old, a graduate
of the University of Illinois, and for the past fifteen years has
been the operating head of the Eaton Investment Company, which
farms approximately 2000 acres of our good Colorado irrigated
land, I believe you met Mr. Eaton in Denver one time, and may
reaember from RFC days that he took over the management of th©
family holding company at a time when its affairs were somewhat
involved, and has since made quite an outstanding success of
the operation* Combined with its farming operations, the company feeds approximately 30,000 head of sheep and 1000 head of
cattle each year*
Mr* Eaton has teen a Director of the Denver Joint
Stock Land Bank for the past seven years, and I have had an opportunity to judge his abilities intimately • I consider him a
man of excellent character and ability, unusually well qualified
for a Director from a standpoint of general business, and particularly as a representative of agriculture and the livestock
industry, and feel certain that if he is selected, he will prove
to be a credit to the System,
With personal regards and all good wishes, I remain,
as ever,

Sincerely yours,
(Signed) T. E. McClintock
Vice President
