I was glad of the opportunity to talx to you over the telephone however, and enjoyed the brief visit I had with your subordinates et the head office. I had hoped, however, to have a personal visit *ith you as there were several matters that I had on ay mind to discuss with you. These will have to wait for the next opportunity. While Mrs. Clayton has already written her thanks I wish to add mine for the very thoughtful gift of fruit and flowers which you sent to the hotel. The whole family were very proud of this mark of your esteem and the chil dren particularly brought these gifts to the attention of every caller who came into our rooms. To cay the least, your thoughtfulness very much heightened the pleasure of our visit to San Francisco which will remain a very pleasant aenory for the years to come.
