MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT 5
Elliott Thurston, Information Officer
at the Federal Reserve ^oarcL, called with the following
message: f,0n the letter that was sent over to the
President from the Federal Open Market Committee there
should have been a postscript to the effect that
Governor Vard&man did not approve of the letter.1’
Governor Vardanian telephoned later that
he had forced the Board to direct Thurston to make this
telephone call to me.
Governor Vardstman recommended that we
not release the letter.
