This information is furnished relative to Will J. Coad, of
Omaha, Nebraska.

Senator Lowell today telephoned me Mr. Coad has

been mentioned as a possible director of the proposed Reconstruction
Finance Corporation and will accept.
WILL J. COAD:
Born in Wyoming 1879 of Irish parentage, and a resident
of Omaha since 1885. A Catholic and a Democrat.
Educated in the Sisters of Mercy grade school and
Creighton University with a three year graduate course in law
at Harvard University where he received a Doctor of Law degree
iI 1903.
Coad practiced law in Omaha and was Assistant County
attorney in 1912, at which time he became Vice President of
the Packers National Bank of South Omaha. In 1916 he became
President of the Omaha Flour Mill Company. He iiJhas been
Chairman of the Board of the City Water ',:orks of Omaha (which
owns and operates the water, Eas and ice busi•ness for the city
of Omaha.)
In 1920 he was elected a director of the Union Stock
Yards Company in South Omaha and has been a director on the
Board of the Omaha Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas
City.
He is a man of small stature but vigorous in mind and body
with a hivhly developed dollar sense. He has the backing of
Senator Howell and if appointed, would be a popular choice

among mid-west millers and
bankers. He is a married man with
at least one child.
