LaFollette, attorney, Congressman, crusading liberal, U. S. Senator from Wisconsin, are divided between the Wisconsin State Historical Society in Madison and the Library of Congress. The collection in the Wisconsin State Historical Society deals mainly -with Mr, LaFollette1s early career (pre-Senatorial), particularly his period as Governor (1901-05)• There are only a few scattered papers dated after 1910 and none of these relate to the Federal Reserve System, The collection is arranged chronologically. No detailed index has been made, but it is open for research. Papers relating to LaFollette1s Senatorial career after 1906 are in the Library of Congress but are closed to all but the LaFollette family.
