THEODORE ROOSEVELT
(1858 - 1919)

The papers of Theodore Roosevelt, Assistant Secretary of
the Navy, Lieutenant Colonel of the Rough Riders in the SpanishAmerican War, Governor of itew York, Vice President and then President of the United States, were mostly presented to the Library of
Congress between 1919 and 1939 by Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt. Additional supplementary material came to the Library between 1932 and
1950 from various sources.

These papers are probably more important for the .Light
they may shed on the Money Trust hearings than on Federal Reserve
material as such. Papers related to the 1912 campaign may be
revealing in so far as Repuoiican - Democratic differences on the
monetary plank in the tvo platforms are contained.
The Library of Congress nas a "temporary register,"
with a &8 page description of series and container list. There
is also a card file of Personal Presidential Papers.
