Mills, Member of Congress, Undersecretary of the Treasury, and Secretary of the Treasury under Herbert Hoover, were given to the Library of Congress by Mrs. Ogden L. Mills in March, 1954* Linear feet of shelf space occupied: 79.86 Approximate number of items: 60,000 These papers may be consulted, during the lifetime of the donor, Mrs. Ogden L. Mills, only by her written permission. Literary rights in the unpublished writings of Ogden L. Mills in these papers, and in other collections of papers in the custody of the Library of Congress, have been dedicated to the public, except that these literary rights are reserved to Mrs. Ogden L. Mills during her lifetime, A press release on the Ogden L. The greatest concentration is for the period from 1926 to 1933 a»d includes correspondence and newspaper clippings dealing with Mills* oany speeches and activities. Although there are some copies of Mills1 earlier speeches, th© period "before his election to Congress in 1921 is only lightly covered* In the papers are letters that passed between Mr, Mills and such public figures as Calvin Coolidg©, Herbert Hoover, Frank B. Xellogg, Henry L. Stimson, Arthur H. ?andenbergf Charles S. Haw]in, Eugene Meyer, and Owen D.
