GEORGE FISHER BAKER
(18^0 - 1931)

The papers of George F. Baker, Chairman of the Board of
the First National Bank offlewlork from 1909 to 1931, are in the
hands of the family, with some of them deposited in the George F»
Baker Trust at 2 Wall Street, New York City.
Linear feet of shelf space occupied
(or other measure): Probably three trunks full
Approximate number of items:
It is mostly "family stuff," which is on file with the
George F. Baker Trust of which Mr. Sheridan Logan is executive
secfetary. It is likely that these, like the papers in the hands
of the family, will eventually go to Harvard.
Approximate number of items:
None of the papers are now available for public use, but
are intact and will not be discarded. According to Mr. Logan, there
is enough material for a biography of Mr. Baker, but Mr. Bakers1 s
tradition of reticence still governs. Permission for use of the
papers may be difficult to obtain.
The present Mr. George F. Baker, a grandson, is with the
First National City Bank.
