*•••« There i s no guide to the Warren P&pers# they are arranged
chronologically for the saast part, vith ooae subject matter cutting
across a perfect chronological arrtuogouent*
pRfortua«tely the ¥ferr@a Pepers do not lend themselves to an
easily defined md limited category fcftat would cover his activities «s
economic adviser to President Roosevelt*
••**•••
Warren Pfepers include "very l i t t l e corresi>ondence between Warren and
others *fao were interested in governmental fiscal policies in the 193®fs«
8or do th&p include any matarial thet would present, such as a diery nould^
th& **innlde story 8 of Warren1© relationship to the Roosevelt Adssi ni s t r a t i on1 s
fiscal policy.
Fe-pers do contain copies of articles and speeches (aiiseographed for
the most pert) thet set forth W&rreaf3 vievs on currency and other economic
mutters* The Papers also include articles^ speeches, open l e t t e r s , editorials*
and other such s&terial relating to economic problems in the 1930*s toad which
was sent to Varren &s an individual concerned with such problems* For
example, the Committee for tile Nation to Rebuild Prices and Purchasing Pover
(J, H* Rand, Chuirmen) sent i t s reports and recosaendations to Warren,
Warren aJLso kept a nevsp&per clipping file and a diary# the l a t t e r ,
however, i s only an account of Warren1s activities from July 1936 through
1937. The di&ry i s simply i perfunctory record of Warren's public activities
(speeches, for exsmple) and not ft detailed narrative of his non-public
activities (unreported govennsttntal econamic talks for exmaple)*
The newspaper clippings cover the years 1933 through 1937 and are quite
extensive* They include reports on Warren1s activities, editorials on
barren's recomeiid&tions, &&& oosuaents on the €fconomic problems of the
1930* s generally. •
