Mr* Harold H. Fisher

Mr* Fisher is said to be an historian of considerable ability and wisdom*
He will be out of a job within a couple of years* His field has been American history*

Whether he knows anything about economics or monetaiy problems, I do not know*

but it seems worthwhile to look into his record to find out whether by any chance he
might be useful in this project*

His reputation here in California is sufficiently

good so that it would seem worthwhile to find out more about him*

Post Script
An examination of the titles of Mr. Fisher1s books indicates that most of
his work has concerned Belgian relief of World War I, history of the Bolshevik Revolution, and so forth. In spite of the statement made to me that his field was American history, I find vexy little about American history which he has written. He
might be valuable in an administrative capacity for this project, but against that
kind of background and without any proof of knowledge of economics or monetary problems, it seems rather dubious that he could be useful as a writer. This is, however,
a tentative judgement, and not to be taken as final by any manner of means.
