STANDARDIZED OR INDEX MONET? A DEFENSE OF

(52 William Street), 1924. Pp. 52.

The author denies that there was forced deflation in
the U.S. after the war. The present large gold ffcmd is
not only a cover for our own monetary needs, but also
for the financial and monetary structure of other countries which have deposits here. He takes issue with
Keynes and holds that prices cannot be stabilized
without control of the rates of exchange. Moreover,
stabilization of prices is not necessarily desirable.
