About the Collection

These reports were scanned from microfilm held by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. PDFs have been created for each report.

Search results for this collection are sorted in the order of the items on the microfilm reels. Metadata have been extracted for the type of bank (state member bank or national bank), Federal Reserve District, state, country, and city of the individual bank or branch. Additionally, the type of report, either for an individual bank or a group of banks, is indicated in the item’s metadata. The quality of the handwriting and overall clarity of the text in these reports vary considerably. In many cases, the name of the bank, city, and/or county are difficult to decipher. The sheer number of reports would make extracting all of this information extremely time consuming. Therefore, only the first letter of the city of the report has been extracted. Bank and county names have not been extracted.

Notes on the Microfilm's Organization

State Member Banks

The reports appear on the film in alphabetical order by cities. In the instances where there is a report for more than one bank in a particular city, the reports appear alphabetically by the name of the bank within the city.

“Recap” sheets (also called “total” sheets) for each call date, by states, districts, and classes of banks are prepared by tabulating the individual bank reports. These recap sheets are the basis of the summary figures published in the “Member Bank Call Report.” These recap sheets follow the call to which they relate.

When a report has been corrected, the original report appears first in the microfilm. The corrected report immediately follows.

State member banks sometimes attach to their condition reports a list of their officers and directors, a schedule of “Other assets” or “Other liabilities,” or other supplementary information when there is not sufficient room on the printed form for this purpose. These additions have been microfilmed immediately following the reports to which they relate.

National Banks

The reports appear on the film in alphabetical order by states and alphabetically by cities within the states (numbered in pencil in upper right hand corner). States that are divided into more than one Federal Reserve District are also divided by district on the microfilm. Reserve cities and private banks will appear after each state.

When a report has been corrected the original reports will appear first, with the corrected ones following.

Branch bank reports will follow the call to which they relate.

National banks sometimes attach to their condition reports a list of their officers and directors, a schedule of “Other Assets” and “Other Liabilities,” or other supplementary information when there is not sufficient room on the printed form for this purpose. These additions have been microfilmed immediately following the reports to which they relate.
