American mathematician

Joseph Adna Hill was an American statistician who began working for the United States Census Bureau in 1899. He became chief statistician of the Bureau in 1909, and Assistant Director of the Census in 1921. He had charge of census reports on child labor, illiteracy, marriage and divorce, women at work, and a report for the Immigration Commission on occupations of immigrants. (Source: Wikipedia)
