' T v ’e ' t Checks are money Some banks consider checks as part of their stationery— to be bought at as low a price as possible, consistent with good appearance. Other banks think of checks as money—paper on which their customers write amounts and names of payees which they do not want to risk having changed. By furnishing their customers with checks on National Safety Paper, the banks give them the greatest service possible—so far as safety is concerned. “ Checks are money ” George La Monte & Son Founded 1871 35 Nassau Street New York This advertisement is printed on National Safety Paper — used by more than 80 per cent of the Banks and T rust Companies of New York City. Any bank stationer will furnish checks on this paper. Neither chemical nor mechan ical erasure can be made without so defacing the checks as to make the fraud plainly detectable. National Safety Paper has been made forty-four years and is used by more than 80 per cent of the Banks and Trust Companies of New York City. This advertisement is printed on N ational Safety Paper. GEORGE LA MONTE & SON Founded 1871 35 Nassau Street New York The Rand-M cNally Bankers' Directory and List of Attorneys Founded 1872 Official Bankers* Directory for Kansas, Kentucky, Montana, and Ohio State Bankers’ Associations Official Numbering Agent for American Bankers Association The Original “ Bankers’ Blue B o o k ” JULY, 1915 Accept no Substitute 79th E D I T I O N 43d Y E A R To Our Subscribers E take pleasure in offering to you this, the Seventy-Ninth Edition o f 'She TfondMcNally ¿Bankers’ Directory, with the assurance that nothing has been left undone W by us in our effort to give you a Directory as nearly perfect as experience, continued vigilance, time and money will make it. Beginning with the January 1915 edition, we have given you at important points in the United States and Canada, a lawyer, bonded by the American Surety Company of New York. This is further evidence of our policy of giving the best service that money can buy. If errors are found, as of course some will be in any book of this nature, they are not the result of any lack of painstaking effort on our part. We make an honest revision every six months, soliciting direct every bank in America for its report, and continuing such solicitation until we get a report from them or of them from some other source. If we made only one such solicitation, we could save thousands of dollars in postage and manufacturing cost, could issue our Directory at least a month earlier, but would give you a dishonest product, less than fifty per cent revised. We make at least thfee and in many cases four and five endeavors to obtain information, even using the telegraph and long distance phone, in order to give you what you want and what you must have— an accurate and reliable book of reference. We do not solicit your patronage by using misleading and irrelevant arguments for it. We wish to impress our constantly increasing number of friends and patrons that the claims of The Rand-McNally Bankers* Directory for your patronage are: 1. It is honestly revised twice a year. 2. It is complete and up to date. 3. It is beautifully printed in clear, readable type. 4. It gives to advertisers a country-wide circulation, covering a majority of the best banks in America and thousands of the large corporations and lawyers offices. In Short, it is an Honest Product We hope that the results of our efforts may meet with your continued approval and we thank you for your patronage. https://fraser.stlouisfed.org Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis RAND McNALLY & COMPANY, Publishers Rand-McNally Building Chicago (H e a d O ffice) 11 New YOrk IN D E X JULY, 1915 States and Territories.
