Correction to PPI Petroleum Industry Indexes Page 1 of 1 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Indexes Correction to PPI Petroleum Industry Indexes Effective with the release of February 2019 Producer Price Index (PPI) data on March 13, 2019, data for June 2015 through September 2018 for three Producer Price Index (PPI) Petroleum industry indexes were updated to correct a processing error. The affected series are as follows: Series ID Code PPI Title Petroleum and coal products manufacturing PCU324---324-- Petroleum and coal products mfg PCU3241-3241-- Petroleum refineries PCU3241132411- Data for these series for June 2015 through September 2018 have been updated in the BLS database and are noted with a C footnote. Data for these series for October 2018 through January 2019 are to be updated and finalized utilizing the normal PPI four-month revision process. In addition, PPI variance information for 2016 and 2017 for Petroleum refineries (PCU32411-32411-) have been corrected in the tables on the BLS website. Variance information for Petroleum and coal products manufacturing (PCU324---324---) and for Petroleum and coal products mfg (3241--3241--) will not be recalculated and have been removed from the variance tables.
