Preliminary report
Department s t o r e sales in April were 8 per cent l a r g e r than in the corresponding month a year ago, according to preliminary reports made to the
Federal reserve system by 520 stores located in leading c i t i e s of a l l Federal
reserve d i s t r i c t s .
