DEPARTMENT STORE SALES IN JUNE 1936
Preliminary report
Department store sales were maintained i n June at the r e l a t i v e l y high level
reached i n May. The Board's seasonally adjusted index advanced from 88 percent
of the 1923-1925 average in May to 89 percent i n June.
Total sales in June were 15 percent l a r g e r and i n the f i r s t half of the
year 10 percent larger than i n the corresponding periods of 1935* AH Federal
Reserve d i s t r i c t s showed increases in comparison with l a s t year.
