In comparison w i t h a y e a r a g o , t h e v a l u e of s a l e s f o r December, a c c o r d i n g t o p r e l i m i n a r y f i g u r e s , was 7 P e r c e n t l a r g e r ; when a l l o w a n c e i s made f o r t h e f a c t t h a t t h e r e was one l e s s t r a d i n g day t h i s y e a r t h a n l a s t , t h e i n c r e a s e from l a s t y e a r i s a b o u t 12 "ner c e n t .
