The F e d e r a l Reserve B o a r d ' s index, which makes a l l o w ance b o t h f o r number of b u s i n e s s days and f o r u s u a l s e a s o n a l changes, was 65 i n November on t h e b a s i s of t h e 1923-1925 average a s 100, compared w i t h "JO i n Octob e r and a l s o i n September. I n comparison w i t h a y e a r ago, t h e v a l u e of s a l e s f o r November, a c c o r d i n g t o p r e l i m i n a r y f i g u r e s , was 2 p e r cent l a r g e r . Decreases compared w i t h l a s t year^ were r e p o r t e d f o r t h e Boston, New York, and P h i l a d e l p h i a F e d e r a l Reserve ' d i s t r i c t s , and i n c r e a s e s f o r a l l t h e o t h e r d i s t r i c t s , the l a r g e s t i n c r e a s e s b e i n g i n t h e A t l a n t a and D a l l a s d i s t r i c t s . The a g g r e g a t e f o r t h e f i r s t e l e v e n months of t h e y e a r was 6 per cent s m a l l e r t h a n l a s t y e a r .
