Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended September 4, which included only five business days, aggregated $6,783*000,000, or 4 per cent above tho total reported for the preceding week and 21 per cent above 1jhe total for the corresponding weel: of last year, which also in cluded only five business days. Aggregate debits for tho l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $6,318,000,000,compared with $6,060,000,000 the preceding week and $5* 192>000,000 the week ended September 5 of last y°ar.
