Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ended September 13, aggregated
$5 , 616, 000, 000, or 6 per cent above the total reported for the preceding week,
which included only five business days, and 11 per cent below the total for
the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been
maintained since January 1919 amounted to :?5»214,000,000, compared with
$4,936,000,000 the preceding week and $5,873,000,000 the week ended September l4
of last year.
