Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading c i t i e s , aggregated $1 0 , 762 , 000,000 or l 4 . 5 per cent more than the
to ta l of $ 9 ,U03 .000,000 shown for the preceding week. New Ifork City reports sn in­
crease of $204,000,000, Chicago - an increase of $ 1 1 ^ 0 0 0 .0 0 0 , Boaton - an increase
of $105,000,000 and Philadelphia - an increase of $46,000,000.
As compared with the week ending October 24, 152^, debits for the w^ek under
review show an increase of $1,582,000,000 or 17.2 per e-cnt. Most of- the inportan^oQ
centers report gains fo r the year. New Yorli City reports an increase of $-*.,0 ,
