Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended September 29, aggregated $8 ,182, 000, 000, or 11 percent below the total re­
ported for the preceding week and ,$ percent below the total for the corresponding
week of last year.

tained since January 1919 amounted to $7»
